Ruth's RQ

Raph and Donnie were sparring. What made this odd, other than the fact they weren't sparring partners, was the fact that they were sparring in the garage. Mikey and Leo wouldn't interrupt them because Mikey had dragged Leo out on a pizza run. And Master Splinter never came up to the garage on his own.
Recently, during a patrol, Donnie had almost been taken out, and when Raph came to protect him, he was a little careless and got a bad cut on his leg. Luckily for Raph, and unluckily for anxious Doctor Donnie, Raph could still fight, seeing as the pain wasn't TOO bad now (according to him). They had both gotten an earful from Leo and Master Splinter, and even MIKEY had given them disapproving looks. But maybe that was because he'd been praised for being totally unscathed. Donnie jumped and kicked at Raph's head, but the red-masked turtle blocked it and threw a punch at Don's midriff, his arm seeming to momentarily slide up Don's foot and ankle before departing. When the punch connected, it sent Don spinning, but he caught himself before he could crash into anything, and launched himself back. Oh they'd show Leo, Mikey, and Master Splinter alright. They'd absolutely floor them.

Leo knocked on the lab door, and was surprised to hear an irritated inquiry about what he wanted. "Donnie, I-"
"If it's an apology, I really don't need one." He heard a sigh. "Leo, I'm working on a delicate project right now, alright?"
"Alright, Donnie... But I expect you to be at the table in fifteen m-"
"Buzz off Fearless! Donnie has to pay attention right now!"
"Raph? Why are you in there?"
"Because I'm helping him, nitwit. Now scram!" Leo frowned, then turned and slowly walked away from the lab.
"You didn't have to be like that, Raph," said Don.
"He wouldn't have just left us alone if I hadn't," said Raph. They turned back to the cut on Raph's wrist that Raph had received when they sparred against each other with the other's weapons. "Hey Don? You shouldn't feel guilty, after all, I whacked you pretty hard with your bo." Don laughed.
"True." Another knock.
"Yes?"
"Hey Don, have you seen Raph?" asked Mikey's voice.
"Whaddaya want, Mikey?"
"I was wondering if you wanted to watch a movie or something after dinner," said Mikey, sounding hopeful.
"Sorry, I got plans for after dinner."
"Oh, okay..." said Mikey, sounding sad.
"Maybe tomorrow," said Raph before he could stop himself.
"Okay!" Mikey said, having obviously perked up.
"Geez, I'm supposed to be mad at him," said Raph, sighing.
"You can never remain mad at Mikey too long," said Don, smiling. "Leo though...."
"Is a whole different story," agreed Raph. "I'll sneak some other weapons in here later, 'kay?" Don nodded.
"Won't Leo be surprised on our next patrol," said Don, allowing himself a smirk. Raph smirked back.
"Oh Fearless won't know what to think or feel."

Next morning, at practice, Leo had expected his sparring match with Raph to end either in him winning, or the usual tie. Instead, he found himself on his shell with the hilt of Raph's sai in front of his eyes. Raph stepped back with a slight smile and offered Leo his hand. "Excellent work, Raphael. You have been practicing," said Master Splinter.
"Maybe," said Raph, shrugging, before sitting down to watch Don and Mikey, who had stood up. Within seconds, Don had Mikey on the floor. Mikey stared at Don, wide eyed.
"You know Mikey, the way you start our sparring is always the same... You should REALLY change it up." Raph and Don bumped fists, then walked out of the dojo to go get breakfast.
"Leo... what the shell just happened?" asked Mikey.
"We got our shells handed to us," said Leo, not quite able to believe it.
"Well my sons, you must practice more," said Master Splinter, with a slight smile. While he too was surprised, he had guessed what had happened. Besides, he HAD noticed Raph sneaking into the lab or garage with weapons when both he and Don were going to be there. He'd have to tell them to work on their stealth, for sure.
